    Washed Ashore

    Join us until September 14th for a new art exhibit that’s making waves at the zoo! Dive into a creative conservation journey through the park, where you will find 15 stunning, larger-than-life pieces from Washed Ashore depicting marine wildlife made entirely of debris collected from Pacific Ocean beaches.

    When: May 31st to September 14th, 2025

    Where: Sculptures will be temporarily installed throughout the zoo in both indoor and outdoor locations—from the Dorothy Harvie Gardens to the ENMAX Conservatory and more!

    This experience is included with your daily admission and memberships.

      Canada Day at the Zoo

      Join us for a wild and wonderful Canada Day celebration, where nature, culture, and community come together! We’ll be celebrating all of the things that make Canada special, from its wildlife to its people. Whether you’re spending the day learning about Canada’s rich wildlife, indulging in iconic Canadian treats, or getting festive with a maple leaf temporary tattoo, you’re sure to have an unforgettable day with us.

      Embark on a WILD New Virtual Adventure

      Virtual Reality Experience

      Our virtual reality (VR) Experience will transport you from the ENMAX Conservatory to incredible adventures across the world. Using interactive films and responsive, moving seating, the VR “pods” will immerse you in the dynamic world of sharks, gorillas or the plains of Africa.

      Tickets can be purchased directly from the ENMAX Conservatory at the pod location. The VR Experience is available daily and not included with general admission.

      What You Need to Know

      Animal Viewing Impact: Hippos

      Our hippos will not be viewable Tuesday, June 24th, and Wednesday, June 25th, to accommodate painting around the habitat. Thank you for your understanding.

      Adjusted Hours: Penguin Plunge

      Penguin Plunge will open at 9:30 a.m. on the following days to accommodate our Penguin Breakfast events:

      June 28
      July 6, 13, and 19
      August 2, 10, and 16

      Early Closure: Brawn Family Foundation River Lodge

      Last entry to the Brawn Family Foundation River Lodge will be at 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 22nd and Sunday, June 29th, to accommodate setup for our Wild After Hours: Otters (18+) event. Thank you for your understanding.

      Exploration Asia Redevelopment: What to Expect

      The Exploration Asia Redevelopment project is officially underway! While there are some viewing impacts in the area, you can still visit many of your favourite species.

      Species Viewable:
      Bactrian camels, Komodo dragons, white-handed gibbons, Malayan tapirs, red-crowned cranes, Turkmenian markhors, Amur tigers, wild boar, and Pallas’s cats. Plus, our Dalmatian pelicans can be found in their temporary home at Land of Lemurs!

      Species Not Viewable:
      Snow leopards and red pandas have been relocated during construction, but don’t worry – these beloved species will be back in 2026.

      West Entrance Closure

      Due to significant construction activities in and around Exploration Asia, the zoo’s West Gate will remain closed for the 2025 season and is expected to remain closed until at least 2028/2029. This necessary step supports the safe movement of visitors while we undertake exciting improvements to animal habitats and visitor experiences.

      Grazers Restaurant: Early Closure

      Please note that Grazers Restaurant will be closing early at 2 p.m. for a staff event on June 27th, 2025.
